在欧美就医的名人还有很多，这里就不一一列举了，而其实出国就医，也并不是名人才享有的“特权”：随着科技的发展，现在世界早已不再遥远，很多曾经相对封闭的资源，如今已触手可及。

对于患者来说，国内医疗资源早已不再是唯一的选择，但如何选择出国就医的时机，却是务必要认真考虑的问题。对于包括癌症在内的很多疾病来说，疾病早期是治疗的黄金时期，此时如果能够接受系统、准确的治疗，不但治愈的概率大大增加，复发和后遗症出现的概率也会有所减低，甚至治疗的过程也能免去很多痛苦。

在这个方面，新加坡前外交部长夫人梁利平女士的经历就非常值得借鉴。2017年7月下旬，梁利平在新加坡确诊罕见的鼻窦癌症，7月22日便飞往美国MD安德森癌症中心接受治疗。在治疗的6个月期间，尽管接受了四次化疗和33次的质子放射治疗，但梁利平状态一直很好，治疗结束时甚至还保留着一头乌黑的秀发，还不时与丈夫杨荣平参观当地教堂、观看橄榄球比赛、与家人朋友聚餐，生活仿佛度假一般惬意。目前梁利平的全身检查显示已没有癌症迹象，夫妇二人开心地回到了新加坡。

而反过来说，晚期疾病的治疗效果相对就会差很多。虽然欧美的医学水平有目共睹，但医学毕竟不是神迹，现代医学依然有很多尚在攻克的问题。错过了时机，即使最优秀的医疗也回天乏术。

面对疾病，每一位患者都有权利选择更加优质的医疗资源，也都应该根据自身情况理智地作出选择。毕竟，用最合理的资源尽可能地控制疾病，才是我们就医的目的。

而与此同时，国内医疗也正在不断尝试新的方向。我们也希望在不懈地努力下，国内外医疗之间的差距能够越来越小，越来越多的患者能够在家门口享受到更加优秀的医疗。
